Summary: World bank said Malaysia's economy can recover early


According to the World Bank, Malaysia is expected to be on the recovery path starting end of this year. The World Bank Country Manager, Dr Firas Raad said that the country needs to continue encourage public health measures while bringing the economy back from contraction due to the pandemic outbreak. Malaysia need to also continue supporting vulnerable households and focus on the firms that need support and recovery, especially SMEs. Firas also said that Malaysia should continue its effort on the reform agendas such as those involving governance, economic, education in order to achieve a high-income nation status.
