Malaysia will begin opening schools starting 24 June as the country enters recovery mode after three months of strict movement control to contain the spread of the coronavirus. The country had started to lift most of the restrictions since Wednesday after the government declared that the outbreak was under control. Schools will be reopened in stages starting with students facing SPM, STPM, and STAM according to Education Minister Mohd Radzi Md Jidin. Around 500,000 students from 2,440 schools will be involve. The decision was made based on advice of the National Security Council and Health Ministry.
