Since the beginning of MCO, any non-essential businesses were
closed, including the barbershop. However, due to the decreasing rate of new
cases of Covid-19 and the ending CMCO, barber shops, hairdressing and beauty
salons can start operating in 10 June, provided that citizens are abiding the
standard operating procedures (SOP). Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk
Ismail Sabri Yaakob said this services contributed RM13.5 billion a year to the
country’s Gross Domemstic Product (GDP). However, any individuals who are at
risk (elderly) are advised to stay at home. Children should be under parents supervision
with protective equipment.
